Can Dogs Eat Green Beans?


Yes! Plain unseasoned green beans can be a healthy addition to your dogs diets. Many dogs can benefit from a healthy amount of vegetables in their diet.


Green beans are an excellent source of key vitamins and minerals like vitamins A and C. They also contain omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, folic acid, iron, potassium, and beta-carotene. Green beans make for a great treat, snack, or part of a whole food diet. There are many ways to incorporate green beans into your dog’s food regimen. Fresh beans make a fun treat for playing toss with your pet. You can also cook the beans without seasoning and add them to your pups kibble chopped up. You can even try baking the beans and blending them to a soup-like consistency to pour on to your dogs kibble.


Dogs are naturally carnivores so remember to feed the green beans in moderations, these should not make up more than 10% of your pooch’s meal.
