Your Dogs Dental Hygiene

Dental hygiene is often forgotten when caring after our beloved pets but keeping our dogs teeth clean and their breath fresh is an integral part of their overall well-being. While daily brushing helps you can also incorporate dental health boosting foods and treats, many of which can be found in your fridge or grocery store!

We made these quick and simple treats to freshen our dogs breath, using only five healthy ingredients.

Parsley and mint which are packed with chlorophyll is not only great for dental health but promotes healthy digestion.

Greek Yogurt as long as it is 100% sugar free and preferably organic, greek yogurt is a great source of calcium and is a wonderful probiotic.

Apples we upcycled some that were bruised and destined for the trash! Apples are also filled with vitamin C and A. Just make sure the seeds and core are removed.

Coconut oil is great for balancing the bacteria in your dogs mouth which can help prevent plaque.

Wondering how to make them?

  • Mix the greek yogurt, parsley, mint and coconut oil together

  • Add in the apple (make sure it is chopped!)

  • Pour into a silicone mold or ice cube tray

  • Freeze for at least 12 hours then remove and keep them in an airtight container in the freezer they last for up to two weeks!

They can be given as a treat or added to your dogs meal! Check out our instagram to see how we made them.
